Optical and transport properties of topological semimetals

In recent years, there has been much interest in topological semimetals such as Weyl/Dirac semimetals and nodal line semimetals in which the conduction and valence bands contact at points or lines in momentum space. Interestingly, Weyl/Dirac semimetals in condensed matter systems can

have a modified form which does not have a particle-physics analogue, such as anisotropic nonlinear energy dispersion and a topological charge larger than one. Nodal line semimetals can also have a modified form with the energy dispersion of the contact line (tilt), which plays a crucial role in

determining various physical properties. In this talk, I will discuss the optical and transport properties of topological semimetals, focusing on the effects of the anisotropic energy dispersion and tilt.
